Summer of Adventure for Kids
Our Summer of Adventure begins on June 15.
Adventure awaits at Russell Library! Kids (birth-11 years old) will receive a Russell Library Adventure Passport that will provide a variety of fun and engaging activities to do.
Kids will get to choose a special stamp to keep and use in their passports as they complete activities and earn drawing tickets for great prizes.
When you sign up for summer reading, in person or online, you will receive your Adventure Awaits passport. Pick up your stamp in person, at the library.

We will pull winners after August 17 for all of the drawing prizes and reach out to the winners via email or phone call.
Summer of Adventure for Teens & Adults
Adventure Begins at the Russell Library! Adults (19 and up) and Teens (12 to 18) can sign up to participate in Summer Reading online or in person.
When you sign up in person, you will receive one Adult and Teen Adventure Guide and one Adult and Teen Summer Reading Bookmark that will provide engaging prompts for earning up to twenty-five tickets for a drawing. If you sign up online, you will be routed to our Summer Reading webpage, where you can then print out the Adventure Guide. You will need to stop by either the Information or Circulation Desks at the library to receive your bookmark. We will also have copies of the Adventure Guide at each of these desks if you cannot print yours.
There are 19 prompts on the Adventure Guide. Please turn it in to the Circulation Desk upon completion. Once you do that, you will receive two more tickets for a total of 21 tickets. If you then fill out the Adult and Teen Summer Reading Bookmark, you will receive four more tickets upon turning it in at the Circulation Desk, for a grand total of 25 tickets.
The prizes include a Bookish Prize Pack (one Russell Library tote bag filled with books and bookish accessories), gift cards to seven local businesses and restaurants ($20 value each), and the grand prize of one Agave Green Kindle Paperwhite and a clear protective case.

Sign ups begin on June 15th at 9 am. Library staff will have a table in the lobby from 9 am to 1pm on June 15th, 2024. The first 20 patrons to come in and sign up in person will receive a free gift!
After August 17th, the end of the summer reading season, we will pull winners for all of the drawing prizes and reach out to the winners via email.
